Possible Causes
Loose ribbon cable between UI and control board, Damaged touch panel, Moisture intrusion into control panel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the ice maker before removing the control panel.
- Remove UI panel: Carefully pry or unscrew the front control panel according to your Hotpoint model's instructions.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Check the flat cable for kinks, tears, or corrosion at the connectors. Reseat both ends firmly.
- Dry moisture: If there are signs of condensation or spills inside the panel, gently dry the area with a soft cloth and allow it to air dry completely before reassembly.
- Check buttons: Press each button to ensure it moves freely and is not physically stuck.
- Replace UI board: If the panel is cracked, unresponsive, or shows burn marks, replace the user interface board with the correct Hotpoint part.
Reassemble and restore power. If E10 persists, the main control board may also need replacement.
