Ice cubes are too small or hollow inside.

Possible Causes

Partially clogged water inlet valve screen, Low household water pressure, Kinked water supply line, Incorrect water level sensor calibration

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off water and unplug the unit before disconnecting water lines.

  • Check water pressure: Ensure household water pressure is within Hotpoint's recommended range. Very low pressure can cause small cubes.
  • Inspect supply line: Straighten any kinks or sharp bends in the line feeding the ice maker.
  • Clean inlet screen: Remove the water line at the inlet valve and clean the small screen filter of debris.
  • Adjust fill (if supported): Some models allow minor water level adjustments via the control. Refer to your manual to increase fill time slightly.

After adjustments, allow a few cycles to see if cube size improves.
