Possible Causes
Dirty condenser coils, High ambient room temperature, Partially restricted water filter, Weak compressor or low refrigerant
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the ice maker before cleaning coils or accessing internal components.
- Clean condenser coils: Use a coil brush and vacuum to remove dust and lint from the condenser at the back or bottom of the unit.
- Improve ventilation: Ensure there is adequate clearance around the unit and that it is not installed in a confined, hot space.
- Replace water filter: If equipped, install a new Hotpoint-compatible water filter to restore proper flow.
- Monitor temperature: If ice production remains low after cleaning and filter replacement, the sealed system may be weak and should be evaluated by a technician.
