Possible Causes
Closed or clogged water supply line, Failed water inlet valve coil, Blocked inlet screen filter, Kinked internal water hose to evaporator
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the ice maker and shut off the water supply valve before disconnecting any water lines.
- 1. Check external water supply: Verify the household shutoff valve feeding the Iceman unit is fully open. Disconnect the supply line at the back of the unit and briefly open the valve into a bucket to confirm strong water flow.
- 2. Inspect inlet screen: At the water inlet valve on the back or inside base of the unit, remove the supply line and check for a small mesh screen. Clean any debris with a soft brush and water.
- 3. Look for kinks: Follow the plastic or braided hose from the inlet valve to the water distribution tube or evaporator tray. Straighten any kinks or pinched sections and ensure the hose is not frozen.
- 4. Test water inlet valve coil: Disconnect the valve’s electrical connector and measure coil resistance with a multimeter. An open circuit (infinite resistance) indicates a failed valve. Replace the water inlet valve assembly.
- 5. Manual fill test: With power restored, carefully apply 120 VAC (or rated voltage) to the valve coil (only if you are trained and using proper safety precautions). If the valve does not open and water does not flow, replace the valve.
Warning: Do not leave the unit unattended after reconnecting water. Check for leaks at all fittings.
