Possible Causes
Stuck mechanical float, Dirty water level probe, Disconnected level sensor harness, Failed water level sensor module
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before working inside the water reservoir area.
- 1. Locate level sensor: On most Iceman ice makers, the water level is controlled by either a float switch or electronic probes in the reservoir. Access the reservoir by removing the top or front cover.
- 2. Clean float or probes: If there is a float, move it up and down to ensure it is not stuck by scale or slime. Clean with warm water and a mild cleaner. For probe-style sensors, gently scrub the metal probes with a soft brush to remove mineral deposits.
- 3. Check wiring: Inspect the harness from the level sensor or float switch to the main PCB. Ensure connectors are fully seated and wires are not damaged.
- 4. Test float switch: Use a multimeter to check continuity while moving the float. It should open and close reliably. Replace the float switch if readings are inconsistent.
- 5. Replace sensor module: If cleaning and wiring checks do not clear E05, the water level sensor module may be defective. Replace it with the correct Iceman part and reset the unit.
Note: After service, run a full cleaning cycle to flush any loosened debris from the reservoir.
