Possible Causes

Blocked ice level sensor window, Misaligned infrared emitter/receiver, Failed bin full sensor board, Disconnected sensor harness

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power before removing the ice bin or sensor covers.

  • 1. Clean sensor area: Remove the ice bin and locate the ice level sensor (mechanical arm or infrared window) on the side walls. Wipe away frost, dust, or mineral film with a soft cloth.
  • 2. Check for obstructions: Ensure no ice chunks or foreign objects are blocking the sensor path or preventing a mechanical arm from moving freely.
  • 3. Verify alignment: For infrared systems, confirm the emitter and receiver modules are directly facing each other and firmly mounted. Gently adjust if they appear skewed.
  • 4. Inspect wiring: Trace the sensor harness back to the control board. Reseat connectors and look for broken wires.
  • 5. Test sensor: Many Iceman models allow a sensor test mode (see service manual). Enter test mode and observe sensor status while blocking/unblocking the beam or moving the arm. If the status does not change, replace the ice bin full sensor assembly.

Tip: After replacement, clear the error by unplugging the unit for several minutes, then restart and monitor a full ice cycle.
