Possible Causes
Dirty condenser coil, Failed condenser fan motor, Blocked ventilation around unit, Faulty condenser temperature sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the ice maker before cleaning coils or working near the fan.
- 1. Improve ventilation: Ensure the Iceman ice maker has the recommended clearance on all sides and is not installed in a closed cabinet without airflow.
- 2. Clean condenser coil: Access the rear or side panel to reach the condenser. Use a soft brush and vacuum to remove dust and lint from the fins. Avoid bending the fins.
- 3. Check condenser fan: Spin the fan blade by hand (with power off). It should move freely. Restore power briefly and confirm the fan runs whenever the compressor is on. If not, test the fan motor for proper voltage and replace if non-functional.
- 4. Inspect temperature sensor: Some models use a condenser thermistor. Ensure it is firmly attached to the coil or line and wiring is intact. Replace if physically damaged or out of resistance spec.
- 5. Reset and test: After cleaning and repairs, unplug the unit for 5 minutes to reset the control, then run for several hours to see if E08 returns.
Warning: Persistent high-pressure faults may indicate a sealed system problem (refrigerant issue) that requires a licensed refrigeration technician.
