Possible Causes
Room temperature too low, faulty ambient temperature sensor, sensor wiring issue
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before accessing internal components.
- Check room temperature: Ensure the ice maker is not used in garages, porches, or unheated spaces below about 50°F (10°C). Move it to a warmer indoor location.
- Allow stabilization: Let the unit sit in the new location for at least 1 hour before restarting so internal temperatures equalize.
- Inspect ambient sensor: If L1 persists in a normal room environment, inspect the ambient thermistor and wiring as described for E1. Ensure it is properly mounted and not exposed to cold drafts.
- Replace sensor if needed: Install a new Igloo-compatible ambient temperature sensor if the original tests out of specification.
