Possible Causes

Failed water circulation pump, clogged pump inlet screen, kinked internal water hose, airlock in pump

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit before accessing the pump or hoses.

  • Check water level: Ensure the reservoir is filled to the proper level. Very low water can cause the pump to suck air.
  • Listen for pump: During a cycle, you should hear a gentle water trickling or pump noise. If silent, the pump may not be running.
  • Inspect for kinks: Remove the ice basket and look for any pinched or kinked water tubes leading to the evaporator tray.
  • Clean pump inlet: Access the pump (usually at the bottom of the reservoir). Remove any debris from the inlet screen or filter.
  • Prime the pump: After cleaning, fill the reservoir and tilt the unit slightly to help remove trapped air from the pump. Restart and listen for water flow.
  • Replace pump: If the pump does not run or only hums without moving water, replace the water circulation pump with an Igloo-compatible assembly.
