Locate the fan: Depending on the Ikea model, there may be a condenser fan at the rear and/or an internal circulation fan near the evaporator. Remove the appropriate panel to access.
Check for obstructions: Inspect the fan blades for ice buildup, plastic packaging, or wiring harnesses rubbing against the blade. Clear any obstruction and spin the blade by hand; it should move freely.
Test fan motor: With the fan disconnected, measure resistance across the motor terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. Replace the fan motor assembly if defective.
Inspect wiring and connectors: Ensure the fan harness is fully seated on the control board and at the motor. Look for burnt or loose pins.
Control board check: If the motor tests good but never receives voltage when the compressor is running, the control board fan output may be faulty. Replace the main control board if necessary.
Reassemble and test: Refit panels, restore power, and verify that the fan runs during cooling.
