E13 displayed, control panel buttons unresponsive or random selections occur

Possible Causes
Moisture intrusion into control panel, damaged touch membrane, loose UI harness, failed user interface board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the ice maker before removing the control panel.
- Dry the panel: If the issue started after cleaning or a spill, allow the control panel area to dry completely. You can remove the front bezel and gently dry with a fan (no heat).
- Inspect ribbon cable: Many Ikea ice makers use a flat ribbon cable between the UI and main board. Reseat both ends and check for corrosion or cracks.
- Check for physical damage: Look for cracks in the touchpad or signs of delamination. If buttons are physically damaged or the membrane is bubbled, replace the user interface panel.
- Board substitution: If wiring and panel look good but the problem persists, the UI board or main control board may be defective. Replace the user interface board first, then the main board if needed.
