Ice has a bad taste or odor (chemical, plastic, or stale)

Safety first: Unplug the unit and shut off water before cleaning. Do not mix cleaning chemicals.

• Discard old ice: Empty the ice bin completely and discard any ice with off-odors.
• Clean bin and interior: Wash the ice bin and interior surfaces with warm water and mild dish soap. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
• Descale and sanitize water path: Run a manufacturer-approved descaling and sanitizing solution through the reservoir and distribution system following the manual. Rinse with several full reservoirs of clean water.
• Replace water filter: If an inline filter is used, replace it according to schedule or sooner if taste issues occur.
• Check water source: Taste the tap water feeding the unit. If it has an odor, consider additional filtration at the source.
