Ice maker runs but makes no ice at all, bin stays empty after several hours

Safety first: Unplug the unit and shut off water before disconnecting lines.

• Confirm water in reservoir: Remove the ice bin and check if the internal reservoir fills with water when the unit starts. If dry, troubleshoot the water supply and inlet valve.
• Check cooling: After 15–20 minutes of operation, carefully touch the evaporator plate; it should be very cold and starting to frost. If it remains warm, investigate compressor, start relay, and sealed system.
• Run a manual cycle (if available): Some Ikea models have a test or clean mode. Use it to verify that water fills, the plate cools, and harvest occurs.
• Replace faulty components: If water is present but no frost forms, contact a refrigeration technician. If cooling is fine but no harvest occurs, inspect the harvest motor and sensors.
