How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit before cleaning. Do not use harsh chemicals that are not food-safe.

  • Drain and discard ice: Empty the reservoir and discard all existing ice.
  • Deep clean: Wipe the reservoir, ice tray, and bin with a solution of 1 tablespoon of unscented household bleach per gallon of water, or use a food-safe ice maker cleaner. Rinse thoroughly.
  • Clean external surfaces: Wipe the lid and surrounding areas to remove any spills or residues that could cause odors.
  • Use filtered water: Refill with fresh, filtered water to reduce mineral and chlorine tastes.
  • Run and discard first batches: Run 2–3 full ice cycles and discard the ice before regular use.
