E3 appears on the display; ice maker may run briefly then stop, or not start at all.

Safety: Disconnect power before accessing internal components.

• Access evaporator area: Remove the top cover and ice basket. Locate the metal evaporator fingers or grid where ice forms. The sensor is usually clipped or taped to this assembly.
• Inspect sensor and clip: Ensure the sensor bulb is firmly attached to the evaporator surface with its metal clip or aluminum tape. If it has fallen off, reattach it securely so it senses the correct temperature.
• Check for damage: Look for cracked insulation, exposed wires, or corrosion at the sensor connector. Repair minor insulation damage with electrical tape; replace the sensor if wires are broken.
• Reconnect sensor plug: Follow the sensor wires to the control board and unplug/replug the connector to ensure a solid connection.
• Test sensor (advanced): With the unit unplugged, measure resistance of the sensor. Compare to Kismile service data if available; if reading is open or shorted, replace the sensor.
• Replace sensor: Install a new Kismile evaporator temperature sensor, route wiring away from sharp edges, and secure with clips or zip ties.
• If E3 persists: The main PCB may be misreading the sensor; consider professional diagnosis and possible control board replacement.
