Possible Causes
Dirty or scaled ice thickness probe, Misadjusted probe position, Broken probe wiring, Failed thickness sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before working near the evaporator and moving parts.
- Locate thickness probe: On some Kismile models, a metal or plastic probe sits near the evaporator grid to sense ice thickness or temperature.
- Clean probe: Use a soft cloth soaked in a 1:1 vinegar and warm water solution to remove mineral scale or slime from the probe surface. Rinse with clean water and dry.
- Check position: Ensure the probe is positioned according to the user manual—typically a few millimeters from the ice surface. Gently bend or adjust the bracket if it is too far or too close.
- Inspect wiring: Follow the probe wires to the control board. Look for cuts, pinches, or loose connectors. Reseat the connector.
- Test operation: Restore power and run a cycle. If E7 clears and ice size normalizes, monitor for several cycles.
- Replace probe: If the error returns and cleaning/adjustment do not help, replace the ice thickness sensor/probe assembly.
