Possible Causes
Clogged water inlet filter screen, Defective water inlet valve coil, Low household water pressure (for plumbed-in models), Faulty water level detection
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off water supply (if plumbed) and unplug the unit before servicing the inlet valve.
- Verify water supply: For models with a direct water line, ensure the shutoff valve is fully open and the supply hose is not kinked.
- Clean inlet screen: Disconnect the water line from the back of the ice maker and remove any small filter screen inside the inlet fitting. Rinse to remove sediment and reinstall.
- Check for leaks: Inspect the inlet hose and fittings for leaks or cracks. Replace damaged hoses.
- Test valve (advanced): With the unit unplugged, measure resistance across the inlet valve coil. A reading of open circuit indicates a failed coil that must be replaced.
- Inspect wiring: Confirm the valve connector is firmly attached and wires are not damaged.
- Replace inlet valve: If the valve does not open when energized or is leaking internally, install a new Kismile-compatible water inlet valve.
