Possible Causes
Obstructed condenser fan blade, Failed fan motor, Loose fan connector, Fan speed feedback signal error on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the ice maker before accessing the fan.
- Inspect fan area: Remove the rear panel and check for dust, plastic wrap, or wires obstructing the fan blade. Remove any obstructions.
- Spin test: Rotate the fan blade by hand. If it feels stiff or grinds, the motor bearings may be failing and the motor should be replaced.
- Check wiring: Ensure the fan motor connector is fully seated on the control board and that wires are not damaged.
- Test operation: Restore power and observe whether the fan starts when the compressor runs. If not, replace the fan motor.
- Control board check: If a new fan does not run and F1 persists, the control board’s fan driver circuit may be defective and require replacement.
