Possible Causes
Blocked air vents around cabinet, Dirty condenser coil, Failed condenser fan motor, Ambient room temperature too high for design
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the ice maker before cleaning or removing panels.
- Relocate unit: Move the ice maker to a cooler, well-ventilated area away from ovens, dishwashers, or direct sunlight. Ensure adequate clearance on all sides.
- Clean condenser and vents: Remove dust and lint from the rear and side vents. Remove the rear panel and brush or vacuum the condenser coil.
- Check fan operation: With the panel off and power restored, verify that the condenser fan starts when the compressor runs. If it does not, replace the fan motor.
- Allow cool-down: Turn the unit off for 30–60 minutes to allow internal temperatures to drop, then restart.
- Monitor ambient temperature: If the room is above the manufacturer’s recommended maximum (often around 32°C/90°F), the unit may not operate reliably. Consider moving it to a cooler location.
