Possible Causes
Failed circulation pump motor, blocked pump inlet, airlock in pump, heavy scale buildup in water distribution system
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power and turn off water before servicing the pump.
- Access pump: Remove the front panel and locate the circulation pump in the sump or reservoir area.
- Inspect for obstructions: Remove the pump and check the impeller for debris, scale, or broken pieces. Clean thoroughly.
- Bleed air: Reinstall the pump and ensure the reservoir is properly filled to avoid airlocks.
- Test pump operation: Restore power and start a cycle. If the pump hums but does not move water, or does not run at all, test for voltage at the pump. Replace if voltage is present but the pump is not circulating.
- Descale system: Run a full clean cycle with ice machine cleaner to remove scale from the distribution tube and spray bar.
