Safety first: Unplug the unit before adding cleaning solution or accessing internal parts.

• Run cleaning cycle: Drain the reservoir, then fill with a mixture of water and Klarstein-approved descaling solution or food-safe citric acid (follow manual ratios). Start the CLEAN cycle if your model supports it.
• Manual cleaning: Wipe the ice tray, evaporator, and bin with a soft cloth soaked in the cleaning solution. Avoid abrasive pads.
• Rinse thoroughly: Drain and refill with fresh water. Run at least one full cycle and discard the first batch of ice.
• Reset reminder: Follow the manual to clear the CL indicator (often by holding the CLEAN or POWER button).

Regular cleaning prevents scale buildup and bacterial growth inside the ice maker.
