Possible Causes
Faulty main control board, Loose display-to-PCB ribbon cable, Power surge damage, Corrupted firmware (rare)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the Klarstein ice maker before opening the control panel.
- Hard reset: Disconnect the unit from power for at least 10 minutes to discharge internal capacitors. Reconnect and test.
- Check power source: Plug the ice maker directly into a wall outlet (no extension cord or power strip). Verify correct voltage with another appliance.
- Inspect control connections: Remove the top/control panel cover and check the ribbon cable between the display board and main PCB. Reseat all connectors firmly.
- Look for burn marks: Visually inspect the PCB for burnt components or swollen capacitors. If present, the board must be replaced.
If E6 persists after reseating cables and resetting, the main control board is likely defective and should be replaced as a complete module.
