Possible Causes

Defective inlet solenoid valve (plumbed-in models), Clogged inlet screen, Low water pressure, Faulty water level detection during fill

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off the water supply and unplug the unit before working on the inlet valve.

  • Verify water pressure: Open the supply tap fully and ensure other fixtures in the house have normal pressure.
  • Clean inlet screen: Disconnect the inlet hose from the back of the Klarstein ice maker. Remove and rinse the small mesh filter inside the valve connection.
  • Check for kinks: Inspect the entire length of the inlet hose for kinks or crushing. Replace if damaged.
  • Test valve (advanced): With a multimeter, check the coil resistance of the inlet valve. An open circuit indicates a failed coil. Replace the valve assembly if defective.

If E9 persists with good water supply and a clean filter, the inlet valve or control board output is likely faulty and should be replaced.
