Possible Causes
Dirty infrared ice sensor, Misaligned sensor bracket, Reflective object in front of sensor, Faulty ice-full sensor board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before working near the sensor area.
- Clean sensor lenses: Wipe the small plastic windows on both sides of the bin opening with a soft, damp cloth. Remove frost, dust, and mineral film.
- Remove reflective items: Do not place shiny scoops or bags in front of the sensor path. These can reflect the beam and simulate a full bin.
- Check sensor alignment: Ensure the emitter and receiver modules are directly facing each other and not bent or loose. Tighten mounting screws if needed.
- Test operation: With the lid open and unit running, gently block the sensor path with your hand to see if the ICE FULL indicator toggles. If there is no response, the sensor may be defective.
Replace the ice-full sensor module if cleaning and alignment do not restore proper operation.
