Possible Causes
Failed door switch, misaligned door actuator, broken switch wiring, control board not detecting closed door
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Unplug the ice maker before accessing the switch.
Steps to resolve E11:
- Check door closure: Ensure the door or lid closes fully and that nothing is obstructing it.
- Locate switch: Find the door or lid switch, usually mounted in the frame or under the top panel where the door contacts.
- Inspect actuator: Verify the door tab or actuator properly engages the switch when closed. Adjust the door or actuator if misaligned.
- Test switch: Disconnect the switch and test for continuity with a multimeter. It should show continuity when pressed (door closed) and open when released.
- Replace switch: If defective, remove mounting screws, disconnect wiring, and install a new Koldfront-compatible door switch. Reconnect wires and secure in place.
- Test: Restore power and confirm the unit starts a cycle when the door is closed and that E11 is cleared.
