Possible Causes
Stuck water level float, failed float switch, mineral buildup on float mechanism, damaged float switch wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Unplug the unit and turn off the water supply.
Steps to resolve E15:
- Locate float assembly: Access the water reservoir area and find the float or water level sensor assembly.
- Inspect for obstructions: Check if the float moves freely up and down. Remove any debris, scale, or ice that may be jamming it.
- Clean float: Use warm water and vinegar to clean mineral deposits from the float and guide tube.
- Test switch: Disconnect the float switch and test for continuity while moving the float. Replace if readings do not change as expected.
- Replace float switch: Install a new Koldfront-compatible water level/float switch if defective, reconnect wiring, and ensure proper movement.
- Test fill: Restore water and power, then run a cycle to confirm proper filling and that E15 is cleared.
