Koldfront ice maker shows E16 and the internal circulation pump does not run; water does not flow over the evaporator.

Safety First: Unplug the unit and shut off water before servicing the pump.

Steps to address E16:

• Access pump: Remove the front or side panel to locate the water circulation pump near the reservoir.
• Check for blockage: Disconnect the pump and inspect the impeller for debris, scale, or ice. Clean thoroughly.
• Bleed air: Refill the reservoir and tilt the unit slightly (if safe) to help remove trapped air from the pump housing.
• Test pump: With the unit unplugged, measure pump motor resistance. An open circuit indicates a failed pump.
• Replace pump: Install a new Koldfront-compatible circulation pump, reconnect hoses and wiring, and ensure there are no leaks.
• Test cycle: Restore power and run a cycle to verify water flows over the evaporator and E16 is cleared.
