Possible Causes
Stuck or failed ice bin level sensor, misaligned infrared sensor, control board not responding to full-bin signal
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Unplug the unit before working near sensors.
Steps to correct overproduction:
- Clean sensor: Wipe the ice level sensor windows with a soft cloth to remove frost or mineral film.
- Check alignment: Ensure the emitter and receiver are directly facing each other and not blocked by bin components.
- Test sensor: With the bin full, observe if the sensor LED (if visible) changes state. If not, the sensor may be faulty.
- Replace sensor: Install a new Koldfront-compatible ice level sensor assembly if cleaning and alignment do not restore function.
