How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off the water supply and unplug the refrigerator before servicing.
- Shut off water: Close the saddle valve or shutoff supplying the refrigerator to stop any active leak.
- Inspect ice bin: Remove the bin and check for large ice slabs or pooled water, indicating overfill.
- Check fill tube: Inspect the ice maker fill tube for ice blockage. If frozen, thaw with warm towels or a hair dryer on low, avoiding direct heat on plastic.
- Test inlet valve: With power off, disconnect the water line at the valve outlet. Restore power briefly and command a fill. If water continues to flow after the fill cycle, replace the water inlet valve.
- Flow meter: On models with a flow sensor, inspect and replace the flow meter if it misreads volume and causes overfill.
