Possible Causes
Freezer thermistor open or shorted, Ice room thermistor failure, Thermistor harness damage, Main PCB sensor circuit fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before testing thermistors.
- Locate thermistors: Identify the freezer and ice room thermistors (small plastic sensors attached to walls or coils).
- Inspect mounting and wiring: Ensure sensors are firmly attached and wiring is intact.
- Measure resistance: Use a multimeter to measure thermistor resistance at room temperature and compare to LG specifications. Replace any sensor that is open, shorted, or out of range.
- Reconnect and test: After replacing, restore power and monitor for tE returning. If it does, the main PCB may be defective.
