How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the refrigerator before removing the ice maker.
- Verify temperature: Ensure the freezer is at or below 0°F (-18°C). Use a thermometer; if too warm, address cooling issues first.
- Check ice maker power switch: Some LG ice makers have an on/off switch or arm. Confirm it is in the ON position.
- Inspect for stuck cubes: Remove the ice bin and look for cubes jammed in the mold or ejector arm. Clear any obstructions.
- Reset ice maker: Press and hold the test/reset button on the ice maker (if equipped) until it cycles. Observe if it completes a full harvest and fill.
- Replace assembly: If the ice maker does not move during test, or stalls mid-cycle, replace the complete ice maker assembly with an LG OEM part.
