How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the refrigerator before working on the dispenser mechanism.
- Inspect bin: Remove the ice bin and check the crusher mechanism for jammed ice or broken parts. Clear any obstructions.
- Check solenoid: Access the crush/cube solenoid near the ice chute. Ensure the plunger moves freely. If rusted or stuck, replace the solenoid assembly.
- Test selector switch: Verify that the cubed/crushed selector on the control panel responds and changes icons. Replace the switch or UI board if unresponsive.
- Reassemble and test: After repairs, reinstall the bin and test both cubed and crushed modes.
