Possible Causes
Interrupted startup sequence, Ice maker not in home position at power-up, Software glitch in control board, Incomplete previous cycle due to power loss
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the appliance is properly grounded and connected to a stable power source.
- Clear ice bin: Remove the ice bin and discard any partially formed or fused cubes that may interfere with calibration.
- Power reset: Turn the appliance off at the mains or unplug it for at least 10 minutes. This allows the control to fully reset.
- Restart sequence: Plug the unit back in and wait several minutes without opening the door to allow the ice maker to home and calibrate.
- Enable ice maker: Use the control panel to ensure the ice maker function is turned ON. Monitor for the first cycle.
- If E7 persists: The ice maker may not be able to find its home position due to internal faults; replacement of the ice maker assembly is usually required.
