Possible Causes

Stuck or leaking water inlet valve, Misaligned fill cup or funnel, Faulty ice maker fill timing circuit, Frozen or restricted ice tray drain (if equipped)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power and close the water supply valve before inspection.

  • Inspect ice compartment: Remove the ice bin and check for pooled water or large sheets of ice under or around the ice maker. Mop up any standing water.
  • Check fill cup alignment: Locate the fill cup or channel where water enters the ice tray. Ensure it is correctly positioned under the fill tube and not displaced.
  • Test inlet valve for leakage: With the appliance unplugged and water supply turned on, observe the fill tube for any slow dripping. Any drip with the valve de-energized indicates a leaking valve that must be replaced.
  • Clear ice from fill tube: If the fill tube is partially blocked with ice, thaw it using warm (not boiling) water in a turkey baster or syringe until water flows freely.
  • Restore and monitor: Turn power and water back on, then monitor several cycles. If overfilling continues and F10 returns, the ice maker control is mis-timing the fill and the ice maker assembly should be replaced.
