Possible Causes
Expired or clogged Liebherr water filter, Incorrect filter type installed, Filter not fully seated, Filter sensor or timer fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the water supply before removing the filter.
- Locate the filter: Depending on the model, the filter may be inside the refrigerator compartment, in the plinth, or external at the back.
- Replace the filter: Remove the old filter by turning it counterclockwise or releasing the locking tab. Install a genuine Liebherr replacement filter, ensuring it is fully seated and locked into place.
- Flush the system: Turn the water supply back on and run water (if there is a dispenser) or allow the ice maker to discard the first 1–2 batches of ice to flush air and carbon fines.
- Reset filter indicator: Use the control panel to reset the filter timer according to the user manual. This often involves pressing and holding a specific button combination for several seconds.
- If F7 persists: The filter sensor or timer circuit may be faulty. In this case, the sensor harness or main control board may need inspection and possible replacement by a technician.
