Possible Causes
Household water pressure too low, Partially closed shutoff valve, Clogged inlet screen on Liebherr water valve, Internal restriction in water line
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Close the water supply and unplug the appliance before disconnecting any water lines.
- Verify water pressure: Connect a pressure gauge to a nearby cold water tap. Ensure pressure is at least 2–3 bar (30–45 psi). If not, consult a plumber.
- Check shutoff valve: Confirm the saddle valve or inline shutoff feeding the Liebherr unit is fully open. Replace self-piercing saddle valves with a full-bore valve if possible.
- Clean inlet screen: Disconnect the water line at the inlet valve on the back of the appliance. Inspect the small mesh screen inside the valve for debris. Rinse under running water and reinstall.
- Inspect water line: Look for kinks, sharp bends, or crushed sections in the copper or braided line. Replace damaged sections with approved tubing.
- Test operation: Restore water and power, then monitor the next few ice cycles. If cubes remain small and F8 returns, the inlet valve may not be opening fully and should be replaced.
