Possible Causes
Failed ejector motor, Broken ejector arm, Stripped drive gears, Loose motor harness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing the ice ejector assembly.
- Access ejector assembly: Remove the bin and front cover to expose the ejector arm or pusher mechanism and its motor.
- Inspect for damage: Look for cracked plastic arms, missing teeth on gears, or misaligned components.
- Check for ice jams: Remove any clumped ice or frost buildup that may be blocking the ejector path.
- Test motor: Disconnect the motor and measure its resistance. If open or extremely high, the motor is defective. If the motor hums but does not turn, the gearbox may be jammed.
- Replace assembly: Install a new ejector motor or complete ejector assembly as recommended by Magic Chef. Ensure all moving parts rotate freely before reassembly.
