• Locate water level device: Depending on model, this may be a mechanical float switch or an electronic water level sensor near the reservoir or tray.
• Inspect float movement: If equipped with a float, move it up and down by hand. It should move freely and return to its resting position. Clean any scale or slime with warm water and mild detergent.
• Check switch continuity: For mechanical switches, disconnect the wires and test continuity while moving the float. Replace the switch if it does not change state reliably.
• Inspect electronic sensor: For electronic level sensors, ensure the sensor is clean and fully submerged at the correct height when the reservoir is full.
• Replace faulty parts: Install a new float switch or water level sensor if testing indicates failure. Reconnect wiring securely.
