Possible Causes
Partially clogged inlet valve screen, Scale buildup in water line, Partially closed shutoff valve, Failing water inlet valve
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off water supply and unplug the unit before disconnecting hoses.
- Verify valve position: Confirm the household shutoff valve feeding the ice maker is fully open.
- Clean inlet screen: Disconnect the water line at the back of the unit and remove the small mesh screen in the inlet valve. Rinse thoroughly to remove sediment.
- Flush supply line: Briefly run water from the supply line into a bucket to clear debris.
- Evaluate inlet valve: If water flow remains weak and E17 persists, the internal valve may be restricted or failing. Replace the water inlet valve with a compatible Magic Chef part.
