Safety first: Unplug the ice maker before adjusting sensors.

• Check sensor alignment: Ensure the infrared emitter and receiver (or mechanical arm) are correctly aligned over the bin.
• Inspect for shorts: Look for crushed or wet wiring near the bin area that could short the sensor circuit.
• Clean sensor lenses: Wipe the sensor windows with a soft cloth to remove condensation or dust.
• Test sensor: If possible, follow the service manual to test sensor output. Replace the sensor assembly if readings are out of range.
• Board evaluation: If a known‑good sensor still triggers E20, the control board input may be defective and require replacement.
