Possible Causes
Clogged internal drain line, Blocked drain pump inlet, Frozen drain outlet, Improper drain hose height causing backflow
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and be prepared for water spillage when opening drain components.
- Clear visible debris: Remove the bin and check the drain opening for ice chips or food particles. Clear by hand.
- Flush drain line: Use warm water to flush the internal drain tube. A turkey baster or squeeze bottle can help push clogs through.
- Check drain hose routing: Ensure the external drain hose slopes downward all the way to the drain and is not submerged in standing water.
- Inspect pump: If equipped with a drain pump, remove and check for obstructions at the impeller. Replace the pump if the impeller is broken or the motor is seized.
