Safety first: Disconnect power and shut off water before cleaning. Wear gloves and eye protection when using chemical cleaners.

Steps:

• Clean evaporator: Remove front panel. Use Manitowoc‑approved ice machine cleaner to descale the evaporator plate/grid thoroughly. Follow with a sanitize cycle.
• Inspect water distribution: Remove and clean the water distribution tube or spray bar. Ensure all holes are clear so water flows evenly over the evaporator.
• Check water filter: Replace the external water filter cartridge if flow is reduced. Verify water supply valve is fully open.
• Verify condenser cleanliness: Clean the condenser coil and ensure the condenser fan is operating properly to maintain correct head pressure.
• Reset and test: Restore power, clear the error if needed, and run a full cycle. Observe freeze time. If it remains excessively long, a sealed system issue (low charge, restriction, weak compressor) may exist.

When to call a technician: If cleaning and water flow corrections do not resolve E08, have a Manitowoc‑qualified technician check refrigeration pressures and system performance.
