Possible Causes
Scaled or stuck flow switch, Low water pressure, Blocked water line or filter, Failed flow sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and close the water supply valve. Relieve water pressure before disconnecting lines.
Steps:
- Check water filter and supply: Replace the water filter cartridge and verify the supply valve is fully open. Ensure there are no kinks in the line.
- Locate flow switch/sensor: On some Manitowoc models, a flow switch is installed in the inlet line or sump area. Remove and inspect for scale or debris.
- Clean or free the switch: Use ice machine cleaner to remove mineral buildup. Ensure the paddle or internal mechanism moves freely.
- Test operation: After reassembly, restore power and water, then run a cycle. If E19 persists, replace the water flow switch / sensor.
Tip: Maintaining proper filtration and regular descaling greatly reduces flow‑related faults.
