Possible Causes
Overflowing water trough, Misaligned water distribution tube, Ice dam on evaporator causing spillover, Cracked bin liner or drain fitting
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and close water supply. Remove stored ice to access internal components.
Steps:
- Inspect water trough level: During fill, ensure the water level stops at the correct height. If it overflows, check the water level probe and inlet valve for proper operation.
- Check distribution tube alignment: Confirm the water distribution tube is seated correctly over the evaporator so water flows onto the plate, not into the bin.
- Remove ice dams: If ice has built up at the top or sides of the evaporator, carefully remove it and perform a full descaling to restore proper flow.
- Inspect bin liner and drain: Look for cracks around the bin drain fitting. Replace the bin drain fitting or repair the liner if damaged.
Note: Persistent internal leaks after these checks may indicate a control or sensor issue affecting water level.
