Possible Causes
Failed door switch, misaligned door magnet (for reed switch), broken switch actuator, wiring harness damage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before removing door trim or switch assemblies.
Steps:
- Locate the door switch or sensor, typically mounted in the cabinet frame near the top or side of the opening.
- Inspect the switch for physical damage and ensure the door fully depresses the switch plunger when closed, or that the door magnet aligns with the reed sensor.
- Use a multimeter to test the switch for continuity while pressing and releasing it. Replace the switch if it does not change state properly.
- Check the wiring harness from the switch to the control board for pinched or broken wires.
- Install a new Marvel door switch or sensor if needed, ensuring proper alignment with the door.
- Restore power and confirm that the interior light and ice maker respond correctly to door open/close and that E13 clears.
