Possible Causes
Dirty reservoir, slime or mold in tubing, old water filter (if equipped), stagnant water from infrequent use
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Steps:
- Discard all existing ice from the bin.
- Turn off the ice maker and shut off the water supply.
- Prepare a cleaning solution using a Marvel‑approved nickel‑safe ice machine cleaner or a mild, food‑safe sanitizer as recommended in the user manual.
- Remove the ice bin, reservoir cover, and any removable water distribution parts. Soak and scrub them in the cleaning solution, then rinse thoroughly.
- Wipe down the interior surfaces of the ice compartment with the cleaning solution, then rinse with clean water and dry.
- If your Marvel model has a water filter, replace it with a new Marvel‑specified filter.
- Restore water and power, run at least one full cleaning cycle if available, then discard the first batch of ice.
