Ice maker shows door or bin switch error, unit will not run with bin installed

Safety first: Unplug the unit before working on switches or wiring.

• Check bin installation: Remove and reinstall the ice bin, ensuring it is fully seated and level. Some Maytag models require the bin to depress a hidden switch.
• Inspect actuator: Look for a plastic tab or lever on the bin that engages the switch. If broken, replace the bin or actuator part.
• Locate switch: Remove the front panel to access the bin or door switch. Verify the switch is firmly mounted and the actuator can fully depress it.
• Test switch: Disconnect the switch and test continuity with a multimeter while pressing and releasing the actuator. Replace if it does not change state.
• Check wiring: Ensure the switch harness is intact and properly connected to the control board.
