Ice maker indicates sensor calibration error, inconsistent ice thickness

Safety first: Disconnect power and shut off water before cleaning internal components.

• Locate thickness probe: On many Maytag ice makers, a metal or plastic probe contacts the ice slab to determine thickness.
• Clean probe: Use a soft cloth and ice machine cleaner solution to remove mineral deposits from the probe. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
• Check adjustment: If your model has an adjustable thickness screw or knob, verify it is set to the factory-recommended position. Adjust slightly if ice is consistently too thin or thick.
• Inspect wiring: Ensure the probe wiring is intact and firmly connected to the control board.
• Replace probe: If cleaning and adjustment do not resolve the issue, replace the ice thickness sensor/probe assembly.
