Possible Causes
Stuck water inlet valve, failed overflow switch, blocked overflow drain, control board not closing valve
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and shut off water immediately to stop flooding. Mop up standing water to prevent slipping.
- Inspect reservoir: Remove the front panel and bin to view the water reservoir. Confirm the water level is above normal.
- Check overflow drain: Locate and clear the overflow drain port and hose. Flush with warm water to remove debris.
- Test inlet valve: With power off, disconnect the outlet side of the water inlet valve. If water continues to flow with no power, the valve is stuck open and must be replaced.
- Inspect overflow switch: If equipped, test the overflow float switch for continuity changes when raised and lowered. Replace if it does not operate correctly.
- Control board: If the valve only overfills when powered and tests good mechanically, the control board may be energizing the valve too long and require replacement.
