Possible Causes
Room temperature above design limit, condenser coil clogged, condenser fan not running, unit installed in confined space
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before cleaning coils or accessing fans.
- Measure room temperature: Confirm the ambient temperature. If above 100°F, improve ventilation or relocate the unit.
- Clean condenser: Remove access panel and vacuum dust from the condenser coil. Use a coil brush to reach between fins.
- Check condenser fan: Verify the fan spins freely and runs when the compressor is on. Replace the fan motor if it fails to start.
- Improve airflow: Ensure the ice maker has the clearances specified by Maytag on all sides and above. Do not enclose it tightly in cabinetry without proper ventilation.
